The course

What this course really gives you

Divemaster is where diving becomes a profession. You stop being a guest in the water and start being responsible for the people in it: briefing them, guiding them, watching their air and their nerves, and making a boat day run smoothly from the first pickup to the last logbook stamp.

Our program is a working internship, not a checkbox course. For four to six weeks you are part of the team: mapping sites, assisting real courses, leading certified divers under supervision, and polishing your own skills until they are demonstration quality. Water workouts, theory exams and workshops run alongside, but the core of the training is the daily rhythm of a real dive operation.

You need Rescue Diver, current EFR, and 40 logged dives to start (60 to certify). What you leave with is a professional card recognised in every dive centre on earth, the ability to work with divers for real, and honest career guidance: what the job pays, where the work is, and whether the instructor path makes sense for you. We only train Divemasters we would hire.

Skills

What you learn

1

Demonstration-quality skills

Every basic skill, polished until a nervous student can copy it. The 24-skill circuit is the professional bar, and you will clear it with room to spare.

2

Guide real divers

Site briefings, group management, air checks, current calls. First shadowing our guides, then leading with a guide behind you, then leading for real.

3

Support courses and students

You assist actual Open Water courses: managing equipment, calming nerves, spotting problems early. Instructors depend on their Divemasters, and you learn why.

4

Run the operation

Boat logistics, compressor room, tank counts, site mapping, emergency plans. The unglamorous machinery that makes 8 AM - 4 PM look effortless.

This course fits you if

  • Divers who feel more at home on a boat than in an office
  • Rescue divers wondering what the professional path really looks like
  • Career changers and gap-year planners with 4-6 weeks to invest
  • Future instructors: Divemaster is the mandatory first step to IDC

Included in €900

  • Full mentorship program
  • Unlimited boat dives during training
  • Real guiding experience
  • Career guidance
  • Boat day with lunch, 8 AM - 4 PM, hotel pickup

Six weeks that changed my life direction. Real internship: I briefed real guests, assisted two full OW courses and logged 70+ dives. The team treated me as staff, not a customer, and the honest career talks were gold. Now working my first season in the Med.

Divemaster questions

What are the requirements to start the Divemaster course?

Rescue Diver certification, current EFR (within 24 months), 40 logged dives, 18 years of age and a diving medical clearance. You need 60 logged dives to certify, and our program includes unlimited team diving so hitting that number is easy.

How long does the Divemaster program take?

Plan for 4 to 6 weeks. PADI allows faster, but candidates who rush it miss the point: the value is in weeks of real guests, real conditions and real responsibility. Some candidates stay longer and transition straight into seasonal work.

Can I work as a Divemaster after certifying?

Yes, worldwide. Divemasters guide certified divers, assist courses and run dive logistics professionally. Working in Egypt specifically also requires CDWS registration, and we walk our graduates through that paperwork when they want to stay.

Do I need my own equipment for the course?

Yes, a full personal set including a dive computer. It is the professional standard: you cannot demonstrate gear handling on rental equipment that changes daily. We help candidates choose and source their set sensibly, without the shopping-list markup.

What is the difference between Divemaster and Instructor?

Divemasters guide certified divers and assist teaching. Instructors teach and certify students themselves, which requires the IDC and an exam after Divemaster. Working a season as a Divemaster first is the best way to find out if teaching is your path, and it makes the IDC far easier.

Ready to dive today?

The water is 28°C, the visibility is over 30 m, and a boat with your name on it leaves tomorrow at 8 AM.
